Lots happening right now if you are interested in a taking some cooking classes on Japanese food from your friends at Tanpopo.
1.) Sushi Workshops – The next one is February 27th from 11:00 – 2:00 pm
2.) We are now doing a fun new cooking class format during lunch. You get the opportunity to learn some new recipes and also eat lunch. The classes will run from 11:00 – 12:00 pm. For a list of classes go to our lunch time cooking classes page.
3.) Finally, Koshiki will be teaching a few classes at Cooks of Crocus Hill in Saint Paul, please go to the website to register.

I haven’t eaten at Tanpopo, but my wife and I attended a sushi-making workshop here a few years ago. It was a lot fun to meet the chef/owner and get some hands on training in their kitchen. You also get a boat-load of sushi to take home with you. Definitely a great way to learn about and appreciate the craft of sushi-making.

Cooking Classes and Valentine’s Day

We still have a number of openings for Valentine’s Day reservations. We do leave some space available for walk-ins as well, but I would recommend making a reservation. We normally get a bunch of calls last minute and fill up, so don’t delay. It’s best to call after 5:00 pm.
Also, we are going to start a new cooking class series during lunch time. The format of the class is a going to be a cooking demonstration/class along with lunch. More details and a schedule later this week.
