 | About Tanpopo Tanpopo Noodle Shop served
its first customer on St. Paul's Selby Avenue in the Spring of 2000. The idea was
simple: to bring an affordable Japanese noodle shop to the Twin Cities and offer an
alternative to Japanese cuisine in the Twin Cities. A Japanese noodle shop, like a
neighborhood bistro in America, serves simple, hearty food in a relaxed atmosphere.
In the Spring of 2003, the restaurant reopened in a larger warehouse space in
Lowertown. The new restaurant has seating for 46, outdoor dining in the summer, a
custom built table for large groups and now serves wine/beer and sake.
 | Our Mission Our main goal is to bring
Japan's authentic home-style dishes, that are healthy and affordable, to the
Twin Cities. By being committed to the needs of our customers and employees
and supporting other small businesses, we hope to establish Tanpopo Noodle Shop as
a respected and successful restaurant in the Twin Cities. All of our soups and
dipping sauces are homemade using traditional Japanese stock made from kelp and
bonito. They contain no MSG. We use organic ingredients as much as possible, and,
in keeping with Japanese food traditions, we feature seasonal dishes using locally
grown produce from the St. Paul Farmer's Market. .
